Web Development

What is Web Development?

Web development is the process of designing, developing, and maintaining websites. Web design, content management, web programming, and database management are all included. It is the development of an internet-based application, such as a website.

The concept of Web Development is made up of two words:

web:-The term “web" refers to websites, web pages, or anything that operates over the internet.

Developmenet:-Development is the process of creating an application from the ground up.

Frontend Development:

The section of a website with which the user directly interacts is referred to as the front end. It is also known as the application's 'client-side.'

HTML is an abbreviation for Hypertext Markup. It is used to create the front-end of web pages by using a value value-added added language. Because it is used to create the structure of a website, it functions as a skeleton for that website.

What is HTML used for?

HTML is used to structure web content that is displayed on the Computer Screen Web (www). It includes Tags and Characteristics that are used to create web pages. We can also use Hyperlinks to connect multiple pages.

HTML Basic Format Page Structure

The theoretical foundation of an HTML page is shown below. It contains the essential building-block elements (doctype declaration, HTML, head, title, and body elements) that are used to create all web pages.

1- A doctype or document type declaration is an instruction that tells the web browser about the markup language in which the current page is written. It is not an element or tag. The doctype declaration is not case-sensitive.

2- This tag is used to define the root element of an HTML document. This tag tells the browser that it is an HTML document. It is the second outer container element that contains all other elements within it.

3- This tag is used to define the head portion of the HTML document that contains information related to the document. Elements within the head tag are not visible on the front end of a webpage.

4- The body tag is being used to enclose all of a webpage’s visible content. To put it another way, the body content is what the browser will display on the front end.

CSS: Cascading Style Sheets, or CSS, is a simple language designed to make the language for creating web pages presentable easier. It is employed in the design of our website.

The base for web development: HTML and CSS is the basic skill that every web developer should know. It is the basic skill that is required for building a website.

Makes your website look attractive: A website that’s dull and plain will not attract the user, so adding some style would surely make your website presentable to the user.

Makes the design come alive: A web developer is responsible for making the design given to him as a live product. It is used for styling to develop the design of the website.

The increased user experience of the website: A website with a simple yet beautiful UI would help the users to go through the website easily. It is used to make the user interface better.

More career opportunities: Since CSS is a basic requirement while learning Web Development, therefor there are abundant career opportunities for it. As a freelancer, you can land up to many projects.

JavaScript: JavaScript is a scripting language that allows our website to have dynamic behavior.

There are two ways to include JavaScript in your HTML file:

Internal JS: We could indeed add JavaScript to our HTML file directly by writing the code inside of the script> tag. Depending on the situation, the script> tag can be placed inside the head> or the body> tags.

External JS: We could indeed write JavaScript code in another file with the extension.js and then link the above file inside the head> tag of the HTML file where we want to include this code.

Bootstrap: Bootstrap is an open and free toolbox for developing responsive web applications. It is the most widely used CSS framework for creating mobile-first, responsive websites. Nowadays, websites are optimized for all browsers (IE, Firefox, and Chrome) and screen sizes (Desktop, Tablets, Phablets, and Phones).

Frontend Frameworks and Libraries:

  • AngularJS
  • js
  • VueJS
  • jQuery
  • Bootstrap
  • Material UI
  • Tailwind CSS
  • jQuery UI
  • Some other libraries and frameworks are: Handlebar.js Backbone.js, Ember.js, etc.

Backend Development:

The stemming of a website is referred to as the backend. It is the section of the webpage that users are unable to see or interact with. It is the part of the software that has no close communication with the users. It is used to organize and store data.

PHP:-

Php is an open scripting language that was developed specifically for web development.

JAVA:-

Java is a programming language that is very popular and widely used. It is extremely scalable.

PYTHON:-

Python is a programming language that allows you to work quickly and efficiently to integrate systems.

Node.js:

Node.js is a cross-platform open-source runtime environment for executing JavaScript code outside of a browser.

Most people are perplexed and believe it is a template or a programming language. We frequently use Node.js to create back-end services such as APIs, Web Apps, and Mobile Apps. Large corporations such as Paypal, Uber, Netflix, and Walmart use it in production.

Web Development Languages:

Backend engineers should know at least one server-side or Backend programming language like Java, Python, Ruby, Net etc.

Database and Cache:-

One of the most important Backend developer skills is knowledge of various DBMS technologies. MySQL, MongoDB, Oracle, SQLServer, and Redis are all popular choices for this purpose. Knowledge of caching mechanisms such as varnish, Memcached, and Redis is advantageous.

Server:-

Hands-on experience with Apache, Nginx, IIS servers, and Microsoft IIS

is preferable. A solid understanding of Linux is extremely beneficial when it comes to server administration.

API (REST & SOAP)

Full-stack developers must also be familiar with web services and APIs. It is preferable to be familiar with the creation and distribution of REST and SOAP services.

Frameworks for the back end:

Back-end frameworks include Express, Django, Rails, Laravel, Spring, and others.

Other Puzzle Pieces:

Working knowledge of frameworks such as Django for Python, Larval for PHP, and so on.

The ability to write high-quality unit tests

Algorithm and data structure knowledge is also required for any professional full-stack developer.

Because each layer has vulnerabilities, it is critical to be aware of security concerns.

Should understand the distinctions between various delivery platforms, such as mobile vs. desktop.

Basic knowledge of frontend technologies such as HTML and CSS is preferred.

Benefits Of Web Development

1. Establish Credibility Against Other Businesses

A website may be the extra step required to establish your credibility as a top contender in your market and comparable to other businesses. You can display your products/services, as well as reviews and testimonials from happy customers. It's fine if not all of the reviews are positive. You simply need to demonstrate that you are attempting to resolve the issue, and people will believe in your credibility even more.

  1. A Website Helps Establish Brand Identity

However, establishing someone's brand identity can indeed be difficult if you don't have a large number of channels through which to do so. Sure, social media can help customers get a sense of who you are, but a web page is the best way to answer all of their questions and give them a complete picture of what you stand for.

Your brand identity is made up of your:

Mission

Vision

Values

Unique positioning

Brand personality

  1. Boost Brand Recognition with A Business Website

Many small business owners are unaware of the distinction between brand identity and brand recognition. As previously stated, brand identity is concerned with how consumers perceive you as a business, whereas brand recognition is concerned with consumers acknowledging and recalling your brand.

By linking to that website in guest posts and comments, you can increase brand recognition through small business web development. You can also start a blog with a link to your website. People will be able to relate to your brand when they read your article about industry-specific topics.

  1. Use A Website to Build Connections with Customers

A website aids in the development of strong relationships with customers by providing them with the opportunity to learn more about you. They are 100 times more likely to buy from a company if they can put a face to it.

It is not only necessary to have a website in a broad sense to build connections, but it is also necessary to have a well-performing one. A website that focuses on easy user experience and customizes the customer's visits will help that customer have a more positive response to your company. The more favorably the customer perceives your company, the stronger the bond you will have with them.

  1. You Need a Website for Digital Marketing

Digital marketing allows you to tailor your ads to your target market so that you don't bother wasting money advertising to the wrong kind of people. It also allows you to reach a much larger number of people much faster than traditional marketing efforts. The most effective digital marketing campaigns direct traffic to a trustworthy website or homepage.

You will have to direct your traffic to a social media platform if you do not have a website. People who click on an ad and territory on a social media page are far less likely to trust a company than those who land on such a professional website.
